Our Culture: Is This a Good Fit?
Here is where I am coming from. I am looking for wedding ministers who personify integrity, professionalism,
and humble service.
Moreover, there needs to be agreement on a few core ideals. These are not
a complete set of doctrinal statements on every facet of Christian theology. Indeed, there are a great
many deeply held values and beliefs within the Christian community worldwide, not all of them equally shared or,
in some cases, shared at all. I will have wedding ministers on both sides of many "hot" theological issues that
continue to divide the church. However, we all share a common passion about what is CORE, that is, what matters
most. This includes:
Agape Love
God is love. Whoever loves is born of God and knows God (I.Jn. 4:7-8). The defining characteristic of Christianity (Jn. 3:35).
Our greatest and most difficult challenge!
Balanced View of Humanity
EVERY person is of infinite worth, beloved by God above all creation with potential for great good or great evil.
We have the opportunity to shape that potential in our relationships for better or worse.
Humility and Servanthood
Jesus washed feet. Greatness is found in humility. Leadership means elevating the needs of others.
Humility also is demonstrated in faith, recognizing we are all in process and none of us holds the monopoly on Truth.
We see through glass dimly.
Authenticity and Transparency
Being human, down-to-earth, authentic, real, true. Brides are asking: “Is he/she/it CREDIBLE?”
Grace and Acceptance
Accepting people as they are. Brides are asking: “Is this person emotionally SAFE?”
